What Can I Do To Become Financially Independent?
The first step to becoming financially independent is to educate yourself. Learn as much as you can about how money works in the real world. Keep in mind that some of what you have been taught regarding money may not be as true as you’ve been led to believe. The most important thing to remember is that learning how money works in the real world will determine how well that money you do get to access too will work for you.
That is why many people who come into a huge windfall of money soon find themselves broke after a few years. It’s not enough to have money, you must understand how money works in the real world, and what you can and cannot do with it in order to ensure that you continue to have access to that money.
- The first step is to read books. Pick good books written by people who know and understand how money really works. One good place to start is the Rich Dad series of books, that I have already mentioned. This series is a great place to learn how money works in the real world.
- Listen to CD’s or Mp3′s if you cannot read books. If you find that you do not have the time to read a book, but have a long commute tow work or school, use that time to listen to CD’s or Mp3′s on your iPod. A few recommended CD’s or audio files are….
- Invest in learning by attending seminars, workshops and courses that will teach you what you need to know. Some recommended programs include…
- Read financial newspapers, journals and magazines. These periodicals can be a great source of inspiration and ideas. You’ll often find stories on people just like you that will tell you how they did what they did, and you can learn a lot from reading what they did, and how they faced some of the same issues that you now face.
- Subscribe to your local business journal or newspaper. Each town has at least one of these papers put by a local business group. They can be a source of what is working for people just like you in your area. It can also lead to some valuable local networking opportunities,
- Talk to real estate, stock and business brokers whenever possible. These brokers can be an excellent source of ideas, and contacts. Again, this activity can lead to some great local networking opportunities.
These are just of the ways you can begin to educate yourself in order to find financial independence.
